Tri-City Electric Co. is Proud to be Green
Tri-City Electric Co. would like to congratulate the City of Davenport on their new police facility. As part of the project team, Tri-City Electric Co. is honored to be involved in one of the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified buildings in the Quad City area. The new police building contains high-efficiency fluorescent lighting, energy-efficient windows, a green roof, and energy saving systems for plumbing, heating, and cooling along with environmentally friendly materials. Tri-City Electric Co. was the electrical contractor for the LEED certified Moline Police Station project as well. This project also used high efficiency along with natural lighting to reduce the amount of energy in the building. Tri-City Electric Co. is proud to be a part of the green movement that is sweeping the nation.
LEED certification is the rating system used by the USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council) to measure how green the building’s systems and materials are. There are certain prerequisites for becoming certified, or obtaining a higher level of Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum. Every project, whether new construction or renovation, has the potential to earn LEED points. The USGBC set out to change the way buildings new and old, are designed and built. Please visit www.usgbc.org for more information.
