ADM Tri-City Electric Co. was selected as the electrical contractor for the ADM project in Clinton, Iowa. ADM is one of the world's largest agricultural processors of soybeans, corn, wheat and cocoa.

The current project is a co-generation facility being built at an estimated half a billion dollars. A Co-Gen plant burns a blend of fuels, including coal, to produce process steam and electric energy. The Co-Gen plant will help lower ADM's overall energy costs.

Part of this project is the new coal storage dome which in itself will cost in excess of $1 million. The dome has a diameter of 300 feet. A dome storage building is desirable because the strength of the dome means coal can be piled right up to the wall of the building.
