Collaboration was the key on this 100-room outpatient facility. Many Smart Choices® were presented and room mock-ups were created to give staff an accurate representation of the features selected. Three provider facilities relocated existing operations to the new healthplex which created challenges transporting equipment. Some pieces had radiation protection meaning the precise position of that equipment had to be measured for underground rough-in prior to wall construction. While an outpatient facility is not as large as a traditional hospital, it is still a highly complex building. The facility’s 100 rooms are used for exams, procedures, offices, storage and utilities with some utilizing flexible designs for future needs. The building’s exterior matches the neighborhood’s architecture while still standing out as a prominent landmark.
