The University of Iowa College of Pharmacy’s, state-of-the-art building, was designed to commensurate to the college’s world-class contemporary pharmacy education that prepares its graduates to be the health care leaders and scientists of the future. The exterior of the 210,000-square-foot building has a strategic placement of glass and key programmatic spaces within the building that offers a glimpse into the internal workings of the building and its occupants. The building is a six-story academic/research tower that features an emergency enclosed generator, LED lighting with WattStopper lighting controls and Audio/Visual integration throughout that houses educational spaces and multi-functional commons area. The learning space allows for a greater focus on smaller groups, team-based learning and enhanced critical thinking skills, state-of-the-art research space, and utilization of cutting-edge technology.
