ORA Orthopedics has served the Quad Cities for more than six decades, and its new Bettendorf campus is a major step forward for the practice. ORA relocated its existing orthopedic clinic and outpatient surgery center to this two-story, 113,000-square-foot medical office building and ambulatory surgery center, giving the practice room to expand its services. Located at 5250 Competition Drive in The Plex, next to the TBK Bank Sports Complex, the $50 million campus also serves as ORA’s administrative headquarters. It is a natural fit for a practice known for sports medicine.

The campus is built as a one-stop shop for orthopedic care. A patient can be seen in clinic, get imaging, have surgery, and complete therapy without leaving the building. The facility is organized into two main components:

  • Ambulatory Surgery Center (52,650 sq. ft.): 10 operating rooms, 2 procedure rooms, sterile processing, storage, and a decontamination suite
  • Orthopedic Clinic (60,800 sq. ft.): five X-ray rooms, an MRI suite, CT imaging, physical and occupational therapy space with a therapy pool, a walk-in Urgent OrthoCARE clinic, and administrative offices

BBL Construction Services served as design-build general contractor. Construction began with a groundbreaking in summer 2024, and the campus opened to patients in February 2026.

Powering and Connecting the Campus

Tri-City Electric served as the electrical contractor, providing the electrical construction that powers the full campus, from the operating rooms and imaging suites to the therapy, clinic, and office spaces.

Tri-City Technologies installed the facility’s low-voltage structured cabling system. A building that brings so many services under one roof depends on reliable connections between them, so the scope called for a high volume of copper data drops throughout both floors. The system is organized around a main telecommunications closet and two local closets, linked by fiber backbone feeds.

With electrical and structured cabling handled by one team, ORA and BBL had a single, coordinated partner for the systems that keep the campus running and connected. Tri-City Group was proud to partner with ORA Orthopedics and BBL Construction Services throughout construction, helping to deliver a one-stop orthopedic campus that will serve patients across the Quad Cities for many years to come.
